A step-by-step tutorial on how to clean your ducted air conditioner filters
- Locate your return air grill.
- Using a ladder, undo the return air grill screw. Remember to keep the screw in its hole so the filter doesn’t fall out
- Undo any grub screws to allow the filter to slide out
- Slide out the filter while taking note of the side that faces the ground. This is the dirty side
- Using a hose on medium pressure, with the dirty side facing away from you and starting from bottom to top, clean the filter
- Gently shake out the filter and leave to dry
- Once dry, slide the filter back into the return air grill.
- Place the screw into the hole to keep the filter from sliding out
- Screw in your grub screws
- Using the ladder, lift grill into position and screw in tightly. We recommend you clean your ducted air conditioner filters every three months.
