It’s important to take care of your new multi head split system air conditioner to keep it running efficiently and have it serviced once a year the maximise its lifespan.

The filters should be cleaned every three months at the change of every season (summer, autumn, winter, and spring) to ensure clean air flow. Just ask Siri to set you a calendar reminder when it’s time for cleaning and servicing.

When it comes to multi split system air conditioning repairs, the symptoms and warranty process are generally the same as for regular split systems. More often than not, you may experience symptoms in both head units.

When assessing whether to repair or replace your multi split system air conditioner, it can become tricky as the cost of replacing a multi split system is higher because you cannot just replace one head unit, you must replace all of them. To decide whether repairing or replacing your system is the best option for you, we will take into account the age, physical condition, and make and model of the unit. We will then provide you with all the relevant information so you can make an informed decision.

Split System Warranty Repair

Most split systems come with a 5-year warranty. When you purchase from us, we take care of any claims that may arise during the warranty period. Additionally, our installation services come with a 5-year installation warranty. If the issue you are experiencing is due to a mistake on our part, we will rectify it free of charge. However, if a manufacturer’s warranty claim is required, they may engage our services at no cost to you. So, if you have an issue and we installed your split system, give us a call first.

Repair vs Split System Replacement

When it comes to determining whether you should repair or replace your air conditioner, there is no one-size-fits-all answer. However, as a general rule, you should start considering a split system replacement around the 8 year mark. At this point, your warranty has expired, your approaching double the warranty period and the cost of a repair versus a replacement comes into question.
In certain cases, an air conditioner may need to be replaced after just 4 years due to significant exposure to salt water. Conversely, a split system repair may have been performed after the 7 year mark and the unit continue to work for many years afterwards. Nevertheless, there have also been cases where repairs were made past the 7 year mark but the unit failed soon after.
No matter the circumstances, we assess the age of the unit, the physical condition of the unit, the make and model, as well as any known issues associated with the specific model. Ultimately, our goal is to gather all the information and make a recommendation that will best fit your individual situation.
However, if you engage our services only to discover that your unit is “dead-on-arrival” and you need a split system replacement, we will refund our call out fee towards the installation of a new unit.
